Iron Dome money comes through; Israel moving military bases to South

One wonders if, as in several cases in the North, these new bases will be cited adjacent to civilian populated areas a la Hizbullah!

“Prime Minister Netanyahu on Friday thanked the U.S. government for its $205 million funding for additional batteries of the new Iron Dome anti-missile system. The two existing batteries performed successfully under live-fire conditions last week, neutralizing rockets fired into Israel from the Gaza Strip. Netanyahu also announced that the nation’s key military bases are being moved from central Israel to the south – a move he says will catalyze development in the south while freeing-up land for development in the center of the country. Moving the bases and key operations is a five-year, $5.5 million venture.”
