Excerpts from the Arab and Iranian Media & Analysis of US Policy in the Region

NYT op-ed

As in the past, having a NYT op-ed is not a pretty process. When the issue touches Israel, the piece literally gets re written and then one has to argue for a “middle ground” not in your style/voice etc.

At the end, you are left having to decide if a wider audience is worth the undermining/minimization of some of your arguments.

On top of this, they decide without telling you, what the headline is. My first one had an awful headline “getting Hezbollah to Behave.” Yikes!

This one is not great either – “Is this lebanon’s final revolution”

Well anyone who asks about such an “End” is probably being way overblown – plus, I am not sure what exactly were Lebanon’s previous revolutions? Some conflicts and realignments come to mind – but revolutions?

Here it is.
